Springtime in Chicago

Yesterday was one of those spring days in Chicago where the sun came out and it broke 70 degrees. This morning was back to low 50s, threatening T-storms and next week forecast shows 30-40s. It reminds me of when I first moved here and someone said "don't like the weather in the Midwest, just wait 5min it'll change". It seems it's in my blood now to act like all Chicagoans and sprint outside the minute we get that one fateful spring day we've been waiting for all winter.

We skipped out of Friday work early, I pushed the fashion season by changing into shorts and headed to our favorite outdoor spot, Big Star, in Wicker Park. It's no frills tacos and margaritas plus shorty beers for $1.
We weren't the only ones with this idea.

Post al fresco we took in the Banff Mountain Film Festival. We try to go annually when it comes to town and this year didn't disappoint. It's a bunch of short films of outdoor extreme sports. Watching the athletes in beautiful locations was an excellent reminder that cabin fever is behind us and summer adventures are just around the corner.
